Sephora Collection Feline Instinct Eyeshadow Palette Tutorial

Fresh-looking skin provides the best base for any makeup look, so before we begin with the eyes, focus on the face first. Start with a hydrating moisturizer and then follow with your usual primer, foundation, blush and a little highlighter, before moving onto the main attraction… your eyes.

First, give your eyeshadow staying power with the help of Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Eye Primer. This weightless primer will help to keep your eyeshadow from fading or creasing, so you can ensure your masterpiece remains in place for as long as you wish. Use its cotton bud applicator or a small damp sponge to apply the primer to your eyelids and let it dry before applying eyeshadow. Can’t wait? Now comes the fun part. With your Sephora Collection Pro Shadow Brush #15, and your Feline Instinct Eyeshadow Palette, work the MAROON shade into the crease as well as a little DARK BROWN to add depth to your lid. Use gentle brushstrokes from the outer area of the eye into the crease of the eyelid. Stop about midway across the lid, near your pupil.

Using the same brush, add a dash of the CHAMPAGNE shade to the center of the lids. This gives a shimmery effect that will catch the light beautifully.

One of the reasons that this look is such a knockout is because of the perfectly applied winged eyeliner. We love Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper Black for its precision tip that delivers an incredibly smooth application. To master the winged look yourself, begin by wiping the brush tip with a damp tissue before you use the liner. This helps prevent build-up, which may cause your Tattoo Liner to dry out. Using your bottom lash line as your guide, start by drawing a wing at the outer corner of your lid, pulling the liner up on a slight angle to create a lifting effect. Then, from the inner corner out, draw a line across the entire upper lash line using short strokes until you meet up with the wing. The line should be thinner at the inner corner and get progressively thicker as you make your way to join up with the wing. Use a mirror to check that your two eyes are even and make small adjustments to each side as needed.

Like many of our looks, this one uses Sephora Collection Outrageous Extension Mascara. It’s one of our favorites because of the extraordinary volume and length it offers. To apply, position the brush at the base of the lashes and use a slight zigzag motion to work the mascara out from root to tip. This separates the lashes while you coat them to give you a lush and full faux lash look. Repeat the application on top of the lashes for an even fuller, longer look. If you smudge your eye makeup while putting on your mascara, simply wait for it to dry and then using a clean brush or small sponge, gently rub in the product. If it’s proving hard to remove, dampen a cotton swab with a little cleanser and use a gentle dabbing motion on the targeted area.
